CANAPE SUGGESTIONS

When choosing canapes the quantity required will depend on a number of factors for example time of year, time of day and mix of guests. However, as a rough guide I would recommend:

Pre-lunch or dinner – 3 bites per person
1-2 hour drinks party – 5 bites per person
2-3 hour drinks party – 10 bites per person

Cold Canapes:

Parmesan and rosemary shortbreads with roast cherry tomatoes and feta
Dill scones with smoked trout and horseradish cream
Peking duck pancakes with plum sauce
Cucumber and salmon nori sushi rolls
Filo tartlets with spicy coriander prawns
Mini Caesar salad croustades
Mini Yorkshire pudding with roast beef and horseradish
Corn Cake with Spicy Mango Salsa
Bang Bang Chicken Filo Tartlet



Hot Canapes:

Asparagus with hollandaise sauce – served in a shot glass
Carrot, honey and ginger soup cups – served in demi tasse cups
Honey sesame glazed cocktail sausages with honey mustard dip
Grilled beef fillet with salsa verde croutes
Salmon teriyaki skewers with ginger soy dipping sauce
Satay chicken stick with spicy peanut dipping sauce
Quails egg and bacon croustades
Thai fish cakes with sweet chilli dipping sauce
Spoons of wild mushroom risotto
Cherubs on horseback

Sweet Bites:

Mini scones with cream and strawberry conserve
Muscavado and fig mini meringues
Caramelised lemon tarts
Fruit skewers with star anise dipping sauce
Mini banoffee pies with whipped cream and banana
